Barry Geoffrey HammondSILLETT7th July 1946 - 1st May 2024

Passed away peacefully at Aspen Court Nursing home, aged 77 years.

Beloved husband to Susan, loving father to Robert and Iain. Loving father-in-law and a treasured grandad to Emma. Brother to Cheryl and Stewart, also a loving uncle and great uncle.



A funeral service for Barry will be held at Markeaton Crematorium (Main Chapel) Markeaton Lane, Derby DE22 4NH Wednesday 22nd May at 12:30 pm.

Family flowers only please.

Donations in lieu for RNLI may be given at the service.

I only met Barry a handful of times but everytime he made me feel welcome in his home, a proper gentleman, my best mates dad, I'll never see a Rover and not think of him, so sorry for your loss RIP Barry X

Saddened to hear of Barry’s passing. I knew and worked with him during his time at Courtaulds. He was a strong advocate for his fellow workers. Vice chair of the Transport and General Workers Union Regional Committee. I extend my deepest condolences to his wife and family.
